Within the past few months we’ve discovered just how costly our satellite system is though and even though we made switch to a new provider, we are still considering alternatives to our current entertainment decision. I love having the ability to fast forward through commercials to get back to my shows. That’s why I was so happy to have a satellite system with a DVR included for many, many years. The thing about that activity that isn’t relaxing is dealing with missed episodes of programs we watch and annoying commercials in the middle of the shows. One of my favorite things to do it relax in the evening with my family while we watch TV. I think it's dumb that there's not an option to delete an old device or IP.A good way to view TV programming without the hassle (or expense) of cable. So in the end, I'm looking to see if anyone found a fix that doesn't involve deleting and completely re-installing Plex. The other option is to delete all files in the database folder but I'm not willing to do that either because it will effect other pre-configured elements of my Plex server.
I just don't want to delete something that will effect other features on the server.Įdit to this: I checked the logs and I'm getting "downloadContainer: expected MediaContainer element, found Error" It seems that most people recommend re-connecting previous Plex databases or backups but I don't have that. I need to delete or refresh something before I can try to scan and reconnect the HDHomeRun. It's running the latest firmware, and I am able to view Live TV on the desktop and mobile HDHomeRun apps. The closest thing I could find was this link, but it's not a viable option for me. Does anyone have experience with this error and how to fix it? I'm pretty sure the issue is related to an old config file, which no longer works, that's still present on my Plex server. So when I navigate to Live TV & DVR in settings I see the generic error: "There was an unexpected error" Go to Forums. Unfortunately since then, I've changed routers, Plex has updated, I've moved several times, etc. I've had it unplugged for a while and recently got it setup again. Works fine.I also have an old HDHomeRun Extend that I used to use for Live TV & DVR on Plex. I'm currently running Plex on a Mac mini.
